Wireless and Whi Fi

Bluetooth originated as a cable replacement technology primarily targeted at personal, portable computing and communications equipment, such as personal digital assistants, cell phones, and laptop computers. The technology makes possible not only replacement of simple point-to-point cabling (with minimal impact in cost and power), but also the quick and simple creation of small ad hoc networks of devices

Recently, in 2003 the Bluetooth community has developed specifications that define how to use streaming audio over a Bluetooth link. This opens up the technology to a whole new class of audio devices, such as wireless stereo headsets, speakers, and portable MP3 players, to name a few.

The wireless networking we're going to focus on is in your home or small business.

Wireless access in the home might seem like overkill to some, but, what a feeling of freedom without sitting at a desk or having a 200 degree laptop on your legs Imagine being anywhere in your house, pulling out your PDA and checking your email or surfing the internet.

At last many computer users are using wireless networks for their home computers.

Once you have the card, then you also have the ability to have internet and email while inside the house or outside in the garden.

There are several types of wireless networking available.  One of the fastest growing technologies is called "Wi fi Hotspots".  These hotspots give a location the ability to offer wireless access to their customers or clients, sometimes free, but usually at a charge.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi hotspots are beginning to proliferate worldwide, and continue to grow as people discover the convenience of Internet access on the road.

Wi-Fi hotspots are springing up in a variety of public venues such as cafes, hotels and airports, but it is predicted that the majority of revenues will come from business travelers, who want to access email, the Internet, and corporate networks while out and about on business.

At this point, though, travelers are challenged to find consistent, easy-to-use, and secure service from hotspot to hotspot.

Wi-Fi hotspots are beginning to take hold all over the world as people discover the convenience of Internet access in the public domain.

This presents a unique opportunity for Service Providers to tap the lucrative public WLAN service market by providing Wi-Fi Roaming Service Agreements for the corporate sector.
